Membership Renewal and Plan for 2024
Greetings of 2024!
We hope the year has started-off well and shall bring more success to
your business.
2024 is one of the most transformative years in the last 10 years with
high expectations amidst the global upheavals. The supply chain equations are rapidly changing
with new pivots of transformation emerging. India is one such destination with amazing
Infrastructure development over the last 7 years and a series of global initiatives taken
including the creation of India Europe Economic Corridor. EU India Free Trade Agreement is
already on a fast track after the visit of President Emmanuel Macron to New Delhi to join
India’s 75th Republic Day celebrations on January 26. The positive impact of these developments
is bound to reach to the companies operating out of Luxembourg. IBCL is committed to help
Luxembourg companies take advantages of the changes.
IBCL has drawn up plans for 2024 to help its member navigate such
changes. We started off the year with an informative and engaging discussion on Taxation and
related regulatory regime currently operational between India and Luxembourg. Our next event
shall be on February 26 in partnership with ArcelorMittal where IBCL shall host the business
delegation from International Financial Services Centres Authority (IFSCA), Gujarat
International Finance Tec-City, Gujarat to hold a roadshow in Luxembourg.
Thereafter on March 26, IBCL shall celebrate its 15th Anniversary at
Deloitte with the event titled – ‘Luxembourg 2030 Kaleidoscope – reflections and prediction.’
The program shall reflect on the upcoming new policies, programs and
how Luxembourg would fit in the fast-evolving Europe. How the changes shall shape the foreign
trade relations. Top Minister(s) from the government of Luxembourg shall be invited to address
the sessions. Strategic thinkers from the corporates shall present their views and engage in
panel discussions with the Presidents of the leading Chamber of Commerce, namely AMCHAM and the
association of financial services.
In parallel, IBCL is organizing three focused Mission Delegation visits
to India as follows:
2nd edition of CII
India Europe Business and Sustainability Conclave, Feb 20-21, New Delhi
ChemTECH World Expo
2024 and WaterEx, March 4-6, Mumbai
IBCL President, Aditya Sharma shall address industry or trade session
at each of the above. Delegates attending the event under IBCL umbrella shall enjoy waiver of
the registration fees. Travel and stay need to be borne by respective attendees. More about the
events on the IBCL website and on the separate communications being sent out from the
President’s office. We shall have an equally busy post-summer 2024 as well. Plans are being

Merry Christmas from IBCL
Dear Members and Patrons,
IBCL wishes you a Merry Christmas!
India-Luxembourg business relations are reaching new heights with Prime
Minister Xavier Bettel attending the 10th edition of Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit from January
10-12, 2022, which will be inaugurated by Narendra Modi, Prime Minister of India.
The relations between the Benelux region and the State of Gujarat date
back to the 7th century and continue today with the Netherlands and Belgium. Luxembourg is now
poised to join this longstanding tradition.
Indian Business Chamber of Luxembourg is proud to recall that in
September 2010, IBCL hosted the delegates of the 5th edition of Vibrant Gujarat in Luxembourg.
We held a conference on Gujarat with the Ministry of Economy and took the delegates to the
Integrated BioBank of Luxembourg, ArcelorMittal, Eupramat, and the Luxembourg Stock Exchange.
In 2017, during the 8th edition of Vibrant Gujarat, Luxembourg was
felicitated by Gujarat’s leading corporate, Adani Group, and Gujarat Chamber of Commerce through
IBCL Board Member, Aditya Sharma. A few memorable moments from 2017 are attached below.
To consolidate these positive vibes into business opportunities, IBCL
shall organize an exclusive event on the Prime Ministerial Level Summits held between India and
Luxembourg in the last 18 months. As per IMF, India’s GDP is expected to grow 9.5% in 2021 and
8.5% in 2022 with several opportunities for Luxembourg to participate.
So, stay tuned as exciting days unfold. We wish you a nice conclusion
of 2021, and a great start to 2022.
Enjoy the festive days!

Plans for 2022
Renewal Of Membership
Renewal Of Membership
Dear Members,
Wish you a happy, healthy, and prosperous New Year
2022!!
2022 has brought lots of hope, along with a new wave of
restrictions. New ways of coping up are, as well, emerging.
Countries are becoming resilient and overcoming the
challenge.
India is already on the path of sound recovery with 8.4%+ projected GDP growth rate in the
short term. It is expected that partner countries of India shall experience a pull-effect
and benefit from this recovery. This opens up opportunities for Luxembourg, given the
ever-growing political ties between India and Luxembourg at the Prime Ministerial level over
the last two years.
Plans for 2022
IBCL kick-started its in-person event last November
with an
all-paid bowling-cum-dinner event. This was followed by an in-person event on sharing
experiences on overcoming supply-chain challenges during the pandemic times. More
deliberations shall follow in 2022 on similar topics. Our focus shall continue to be on
in-person events with our 13th Anniversary event planned in March.
Once 3G certificates roll out is completed in
Luxembourg, we could
organize events without mandatory use of masks or maintaining a 2 meter-distance all the
time.
This year, we have introduced the concept of the
‘Corporate of the
Quarter’ where each of our Corporate Members shall have an opportunity to nominate
themselves and suggest a theme for the Quarter. Once selected, they shall have the
flexibility to plan and design events under the IBCL banner with logistical support from
IBCL. The event shall be designed to disseminate knowledge around an industry or subject
rather than promoting a particular product or brand. No payment would be required to
participate.
The theme under consideration for Q1 is ‘Environment,
Society and
Governance’. Ideas are welcome for Q2, Q3, and Q4.
We are working on reviving our annual gala event of
musical Diwali
and dance event for members to interact in a family setup while experiencing the culinary,
cultural, and musical heritage of India and Luxembourg.
Our website is undergoing a transformation to be more
dynamic and
responsive. Regular posts shall be made with curated news on business, regulatory updates,
upcoming webinars, major international tenders, and economic history to help have a holistic
understanding of business counterparts.
Renewal of Membership
To finalize our planned activities, we are renewing
Membership for
the year 2022. The annual renewal fee has been kept at 75% of the regular fees. The reduced
scale is:
Corporate Member: € 618.75
SME Member: € 300.00
Individual Member: € 112.50
We would appreciate payment by February 15, 2022. In
case any
member needs a longer time, they could keep us posted over radhika@ibcl.lu before January 31, and we shall be
glad to standby and support them.
We are also sharing an online Google form link to keep
the list of
contact persons regularly updated. This would ensure effective communication from our end
and no benefits are missed out by the members. Google Form Link
